I recently learned of this great little work-around to this problem. If you cannot connect to a remote server using Terminal Services (Remote Desktop Connection-RDC), then use this process explained in more depth - http://weblogs.asp.net/owscott/archive/2003/12/30/46776.aspx.
qwinsta /server:serverip (this will list all sessions)
rwinsta /server:serverip sessionid (rwinsta /server:192.168.111.250 2) This will disconnect session ID2
