Ryanair Check-In Ripoff

Posted on June 12, 2009 by webmaster

ryanairI have today learned that you can no longer check-in for free at the airport with Ryanair. You have to ‘buy’ the online check-in (£5), else you’ll be charged £40 (it doesn’t say this on their site yet) for the privilege at the airport. See for yourself their new policy at http://www.ryanair.com/site/EN/faqs.php?sect=chk&quest=checkinfee.

Coupled with their ridiculous fees for luggage (Link to fees), already shambolic checking-in system, and diabolical customer service (is it £1 per minute to call them still), does this recent move mark the beginning of the end of low cost flights.

So how do they get away with it? Answers on a postcard please. I’ll be doing everything possible to avoid using them in the future; British Airways and KLM, please take note!!

Also, whilst writing about travel, from the 1st October 2009 driving licences will no longer be an acceptable travel document on Ryanair flights.
